My Air Conditioner is “Running Too Much?”

Check if all exterior doors and windows are closed and sealed properly.

My Air Conditioner is “Not Running?”

Check your fuses or circuit breakers. Let the unit cool down for about five minutes before resetting any breakers.

My Unit is “Blowing Cold?”

Your unit is not blowing cold. Your unit may be low on freon, either it was undercharged during installation or it leaks. If it leaks, simply adding refrigerant is not a solution. When Should I Change Filters?

Change the filters on a monthly basis. As your filter gets dirtier, it slows down the air flow, requiring your air conditioner or heater to work harder, therefore less efficient. Also, keep your filter grill clean and unobstructed by furniture, pictures and more, so not to restrict the air flow to the system. If you allow filters to become too dirty, the system will work harder and the compressor or fans are likely to fail prematurely.

  • Pull the filter; if the filter is dirty, get a new one.
  • Turn the thermostat to off position and the fan to on position.
  • Let it run for few hours, this will assist in defrosting the unit.
  • After the unit is completely thawed, turn the fan switch to auto and replace the filter.
  • Turn the system back on to cool and check if it is working well.
  • If it’s not, it’s time for you to call a qualified technician.
